Forest Green Rovers were unable to make their home advantage count on Saturday as they played to a goalless draw with ten-man Bath City at the New Lawn.
The Blue Square Bet Premier derby largely failed to live up to its billing and a gritty affair unfolded in Gloucestershire.
The best chance came after just two minutes in the contest when the visitors came close to scoring.
First Gavin Caines spurned a great opportunity when he headed over the crossbar from close range and then Jon Else stabbed an effort onto the upright.
Dave Hockaday's men had another half chance on the quarter hour when Caines saw another header fly over the bar.
However, the Romans managed to repel the onslaught and found a way back into the game before half-time, their best chance falling to Kaid Mohamed in the 42nd minute when the striker hit a shot wide of the upright.
The real drama followed on the hour when Bath captain Lewis Hogg received his marching orders for a two-footed lunge on Rovers midfielder Lee Fowler, his sixth dismissal in his Romans career.
The draw leaves Adie Britton's charges 17th in the standings while Rovers are sixth.
