Wednesday's FA Cup wrap

Bath City were sent crashing out of the FA Cup after slumping to a 3-2 extra-time defeat to Dag & Red at Twerton Park on Wednesday evening.

The Romans went into the break a goal down after Brian Woodall (20) got his head to the ball to nod home from deep inside the area.

The match remained tight after the restart, but midway through the second period the Blue Square Bet Premier outfit grabbed an equaliser as Adam Connolly (71) let fly from the edge of the area to bury his effort in the top corner.

Neither side could be separated after the regulation 90, but 10 minutes into extra time the visitors regained the lead as Jon Nurse tucked home from inside the six-yard area, and with five minutes to go he grabbed his second to seal the victory.

Meanwhile, an extra-time goal from George Bowerman earned Walsall their place in the next round as they recorded a 3-2 victory over Exeter.

Wednesday's FA Cup results:

Bath City 1-3 Dagenham & Redbridge (AET)

Walsall 3-2 Exeter
