Abbey Stadium
Cambridge United missed out on the chance to go fourth in the Blue Square Bet Premier standings as they were held to a 1-1 draw by basement club Bath City on Tuesday evening.
The U's came out the blocks flying and were unlucky not to have taken an early lead at the Abbey Stadium after Ashley Carew hit the bar with a free-kick from just outside the area.
However, midway through the first-half Jez George's men broke the deadlock as Liam Hughes unleashed a stinging 25-yard drive which flew past Jason Matthews before bursting the back of the net.
The Romans looked desperate to get back into the match and Sean Canham had two good chances to find a leveler, but on both occasions he was unable to convert his opportunities.
Just before the hour mark though Adie Britton's men were gifted the equaliser as some sloppy defending allowed Lewis Hogg to fire past the 'keeper from inside the area.
City almost snuck the three points late on, but home shot-stopper Danny Naisbitt kept his side in it by twice denying Adam Connolly.
The result leaves United in fifth place while Bath remain rooted to the bottom with just 10 points from their opening 24 league matches.
