Luton Town 2-0 Bath City

Luton Town condemned Bath City to their ninth-straight defeat with a 2-0 victory over the Romans at Kenilworth Road on Saturday afternoon.

Janos Kovacs got his side off to great start with a goal in the 17th minute but the home fans had to wait until nine minutes before the final whistle before Adam Watkins secured all three points.

The Hatters controlled much of the tie could have opened the scorning after only four minutes had John Paul Kissock got his bearings right after some good interplay between Jake Howells and Keith Keane.

Greg Taylor was then guilty of failing to hit the target before Robbie Willmott made Glyn Garner work from the byline.

But it was Bath who wasted the best early chance as Sean Canham completely miss hit his effort with just Mark Tyler to beat after breaking through on goal.

Luton made their opponents pay for that mistake as Kovacs headered home a Howells corner that was whipped into the six yard box.

And despite maintaining their dominance for much of the match, Luton struggled in front of goal and offered hope to their opponents.

Marley Watkins smashed a shot over the goal before Gathin Jones powered his header just wide of the target on the stroke of half time.

Luton's finishing remained woeful in the second half with Danny Crow hitting his shot straight at Garner after George Pilkington directed a Howells corner back across goal.

Crow reeled away in horror when he thought he had scored with 72 minutes on the clock before Town finally found a second goal.

Watkins connected superbly to a half clearance from a Lawless cross to bury the ball into the bottom right corner of the net.

Luton Town bookings: Kovacs.

Bath City bookings: Stonehouse.
