Alan Devonshire
Hampton & Richmond Borough boss Alan Devonshire has welcomed the return to form of striker Ian Hodges.
The experienced frontman underwent a double hernia operation a season ago and struggled to regain his best in the following campaign, having already played with the problem for five months.
Devonshire saluted the player's performance after he scored in Saturday's 2-1 friendly defeat to Championship side Queens Park Rangers: "The last time we reached the play-off final he played from January with the problem. I think the effects of that and the operation caught up with him last year.
"He is not the biggest player but he is a brave lad and has done really well for me.
"Hodgey is very important to us. He is looking very sharp and works really hard for us, so I'm delighted to have him back."
Matt Lovett, Dean Wells, Craig Tanner, Nathan Collier and Dean Inman have all already committed themselves to the club with Devonshire adding former Hayes & Yeading full-back Danny Allen Page, Uxbridge centre back Dave Stephens and Woking forward Charlie Moon to the squad for the new season.
