What's The Ground Like?

On one side is the small but colourful looking Main Stand. This all seated covered stand sits on the half way line. Behind this stand and over looking the ground is the Thurrock Hotel, so if you want to watch the game whilst still in bed.... Apart from a pathway around the perimeter fence the rest of that side is unused for spectators. Opposite is a mostly small covered terrace that has had some seating added to one side. The team dugouts are located in front. There is a noticeable slope to the pitch that runs down from this side down towards the Main Stand. One end has a small covered terrace, which adjacent to it is the team's dressing rooms. Opposite at the Social Club end is a small terrace which has a simple looking cover to its rear.

Where to Eat & Drink?

Another ground that is literally in the 'middle of nowhere'. So unless you stop on the way or at the nearby Thurrock Motorway Services then you will need to rely on the sizeable club house and club catering.

How to Get There by Car & Where to Park

Leave the M25 at Junction 31 and at the exit roundabout take the Ship Lane turning (After the A1306 Purfleet turning). About two hundred yards down on the right is the entrance to the ground. Look for the Thurrock Hotel sign. There is a fair sized car park at the ground.

Nearest Train Station

Chafford Hundred Station is located around two miles away. It is served by trains from Barking & Upminster.

Other Places of Interest

Well perhaps I shouldn't recommend their local rivals, but just on the other side of the Dartford Bridge off Junction 1b of the M25 is the new Princes Park Stadium, home of Dartford FC. Labelled as as one of the most ecologically sound stadiums ever built; it boasts timber cladding, its own water recycling system and water-collection lake, solar panels and a grassed roof. Plus inside there is the 'Oak Man' holding up one of the roofs. See www.dartfordfc.co.uk for more information.
