Blue Square South club Newport County have decided to part ways with manager Peter Beadle after a disappointing end to their league campaign.
Beadle took over at Newport from John Cornforth in October 2005 and steered them to the final of the FAW Premier Cup in the 2006-07 season, which they lost 1-0 to TNS.
The Exiles put together a strong challenge for the play-offs this season but missed out on Saturday with a defeat to Boston United.
A statement on the club's official website reads as follows: "On behalf of the Board of Directors of Newport County AFC, Chairman Chris Blight this morning informed Peter Beadle that his services as manager were no longer required by the Club.
"The manager's dismissal is with immediate effect now that the season is completed.
"The Board will begin the process of recruiting a new manager without delay.
"Action is being taken to invite the players to be retained to discuss terms and recommit to the Club. Assistant Manager Scott Young has been invited by the Board to continue in a caretaking capacity.
"Peter Beadle is being invited to meet with the Board to discuss in greater detail the reasoning for the decision.
"The Board will offer Peter every support and assistance to continue his career in football management. Further announcements will be made in due course."
