Bryant looking for Town stay

Mitchell Bryant is hoping to be able to extend his month-long stay with Blue Square South club Basingstoke Town.

The striker is enjoying a second spell at the club on loan from Reading after being recalled following a fine previous stay that saw him score eight goals in sixteen games.

The visit of Staines Town on Saturday was the player's last match with his current deal having now expired.

Bryant told thew Basingstoke Gazette: "I enjoy it at Basingstoke and would like to extend my stay, possibly until the end of the season.

"This season has been a bit up and down but football is like that and it has been good to come back here, where I did well last year, and get some games under my belt.

"I am keen to show what I can do because my contract at Reading is up in the summer. I'm not sure I will be staying on there so I have plenty to prove."

The 19-year-old former Manchester United trainee has started all five league games since his arrival and scored his first goal last weekend.

Her continued: "I was pleased with the goal because it had been a long time coming. It was nice to get on the scoresheet and hopefully there are more to come.

"It was a good win considering where Chelmsford are in the league and the fact that we were away from home. We need all of the wins we can get at the moment so to turn things around was very good."
