Saturday's Blue Square Bet South wrap

Blue Square Bet South leaders Woking lost only their third match of the season as they slumped to a 2-0 defeat at strugglers Salisbury City on Saturday afternoon.

The Whites stole into the lead on the stroke of half-time as Robbie Matthews (45) found the back of the net, and Brian Dutton (61) added the second just after the hour mark to hand Darrell Clarke's men three valuable points.

Welling United managed to climb up to second in the standings as they snuck a 1-0 victory over Farnborough at Park View Road.

Neither side were able to find the breakthrough in the opening 45 minutes, but midway through the second-half and Luis Cumbers (74) popped up with the vital goal to hoist the Wings above Chelmsford into second.

Basingstoke managed to snatch victory late on in their clash against Eastleigh at the Camrose, with Tim Sills (75) scoring the game's only goal 15 minutes from time.

Dartford solidified themselves in fourth place as they cruised to a 3-1 victory over Hampton and Richmond Borough.

The Beavers took an early lead through James Simmonds (8), but Elliot Bradbrook (32, 48) overturned the deficit before Jacob Erskine (52) made sure of the win for the visitors, who are level on points with third-placed Chelmsford City.

Weston-super-Mare's march up the standings were brought to a screeching halt as they collapsed to a 3-0 defeat to Boreham Wood at Meadow Park.

Billy Lobjoit (47, 65) grabbed a second-half brace while Sam Lechmere (90) wrapped up the comfortable victory with an injury time strike.

Sutton United's play-off hopes took a slight knock as they were held to a 1-1 draw against relegation threatened Maidenhead United.

The hosts got off to a flying start as Manny Williams (6) drew first blood, but just moments later Anthony Riviere (8) ensured both side would go home with a share of the spoils.

Thurrock continue to prop up the standings as they were held to a 0-0 draw against Havant & Waterlooville at Ship Lane.

Four goals from Frannie Collin (1, 46, pen 66, 76) sent Tonbridge Angels on their way to a 5-1 demolition of Eastbourne Borough at Longmead Stadium.

The striker looked up for it right from the first whistle and put the hosts in front just seconds after the kick-off. He doubled his tally in identical fashion in the second period, scoring just moments after the restart before going on to claim his hat-trick from the spot and a fourth late on.

Chris Piper (10) also managed to get in on the action, while Matt Crabb (23) earned the visitors a consolation goal.

Bromley conceded just seconds after taking the lead to eventually draw 1-1 against Truro City at Courage Stadium.

The two sides looked to be heading into the break goalless, but Liam Harwood (44) opened the scoring just before the break. However, moments later and the visitors were level, with Andy Watkins (45) earning his side a point.

Relegation threatened Staines Town grabbed three invaluable points as they shocked title hopefuls Chelmsford at Melbourne Stadium.

The hosts, second in the standings at kick-off, were unable to break through the Swans' defence, and they were made to pay dearly for their inability up front as David Wheeler (73) snuck home the game's only goal midway through the second-half.

Both Dorchester Town and Dover Athletic scored in the final 10 minutes of their Avenue Stadium encounter to earn a share of the spoils.

The Whites were first to find the back of the net through Donovan Simmonds (81), but just two minutes later Tom Nichols (83) replied for the Magpies to ensure a point for his side.
