Torquay out to shock Yeovil

Gulls Can Slay Perennial Giantkillers

Sunday November 11, 2007

Torquay United v Yeovil Town (15:15, Live on BBC 1)

Prices correct at time of writing (11am, Wednesday November 7, 2007).

Home 17/10 Draw 9/4 Away 13/10

Yeovil have the best FA Cup record of any non league side but now as a League One outfit the boot is on the other foot. It's financially been a very good start to the season for Torquay and there's an extra £70,000 for each club for staging this game on Sunday. I genuinely think Torquay have an excellent chance of an upset and 17/10 represents fairly decent odds. There are various ways you can look at this match and the one price that I do like is that the first 27 minutes will be scoreless. I think the first goal to come after the 28th minute at 5/6 looks a very fair price because I think both sides are going to play very cautiously and certainly Torquay have improved in the second half of matches this season. There's also an interesting price where you can get evens that the second half will contain the most goals and from what we've seen so far in the Blue Square Premier that evens price is there for the taking. I don't think Torquay will lose so you could back them at 17/10 but a better way - like I found in the York game last week - could be to take even money on Torquay Draw No Bet. If there is a replay and it wouldn't be the worst thing in the world financially for either club, then you get even money and you don't lose. I think that Torquay might press, they're 4/1 to win half time/full time and it's 14/1 on the Gulls to win 2-0 which could be a bit of value. I think this will be an open game in the second half so I'm going take up that offer of evens on Torquay Draw No Bet.

Verdict: Draw

Best Bet: Torquay Draw No Bet
