Altrincham v Histon

Prices correct at time of writing (2.30pm, Wednesday November 28, 2007).

Home 8/5 Draw 11/5 Away 7/5

I liked what I saw in the Stevenage v Altrincham match on Monday evening but I didn't like the result, Stevenage won 2-1, apart from the fact that we did recommend a Draw at half-time, Stevenage full-time, so I was financially better off. Altrincham will play a lot worse and pick up points than they did on Monday.

The Robins gave away two bad goals, Stevenage were worthy winners and the score probably could have been more. I wouldn't have blamed the goalkeeper Stuart Coburn at all, he's had a fine season and just made one error. Altrincham were a little bit weak defensively but they will be looking to bounce back. I think Graham Heathcote's a very good man-manager and 8/5 isn't a bad price for a victory against Histon, who themselves are playing well. I'm going to take a chance and go for a home win at Moss Lane.

Verdict: Home win

Stafford Rangers v Northwich Victoria

Home Evens Draw 9/4 Away 9/4

Both these clubs could already actually be doomed at this stage of the season so the one result they don't want is a draw, which could make it an open game. I think home advatage will be the key factor in this match. I thought Stafford possibly could have been odds on and they might have been but for the fact that Northwich beat Rushden and Diamonds 1-0 last week - their first victory of the season. It's a Stafford win for me, you're getting even money to double your cash.

Verdict: Home win

York City v Crawley Town

Home Evens Draw 9/4 Away 9/4

Crawley had a big 4-1 win at home to Farsley Celtic last week but I still prefer them at home to away from home and I'm going to give York another chance at evens to beat Crawley. I know things aren't going well for the Minstermen at the moment but realistically they should be good enough to beat Crawley at home and they're playing for their places and of course, whoever the new manager may be.

Verdict: Home win
