Saturday's Blue Square South Wrap

Eastleigh got back to winning ways with a hard-fought victory over Weston-Super-Mare to catapult themselves up to third spot in the Blue Square South with Havant and Waterlooville hot on their tails after their win over Bromley.

Eastleigh 3-2 Weston-S-Mare

Eastleigh saw off 15th placed Weston-Super-Mare with Andrew Forbes opening the scoring after just two minutes. Paul Sales joined his teammate on the score sheet just five minutes later while Ashan Holgate pulled his side back into the tie with 18 minutes played. But Forbes put the tie out of reach with his successful penalty with half an hour to play. Ryan Harley made sure of a tense ending as he pulled another goal back on 80 minutes but Eastleigh shut up shop to hold on at the Sparshatts Stadium.

Havant and Waterlooville 1-0 Bromley

Jamie Slabber's fifth minute goal saw off Bromley at West Leigh Park as the Hawks continued their steady march up the table. Bromley are sitting comfortably enough in 9th spot after a promising although inconsistent start to the season.

Braintree Town 1-1 Maidenhead Utd

Lewis Riddle's 80th minute penalty cancelled out Manny Williams' 22nd minute strike in front of 580 fans at Cressing Road on Saturday as Braintree struggled to create many clear-cut chances against a Maidenhead Utd side, who are languishing in 18th spot.

Sutton Utd 1-3 Dorchester

Dorchester stormed into an early two goal lead through John Docker on six minutes and Charlie Henry with13 minutes played. Warren McBean pulled one back for the home side shortly after on 23 minutes, however, but that was how it was to stay until Henry bagged his second with a minute to play.

Hayes & Yeading 1-1 Basingstoke

Hayes & Yeading added a much needed point to their cause against Basingstoke on Saturday. The bottom-placed side are still searching for their first win of the season but despite Basingstoke yet to register their first away win, the Dragons really should have ended that hoodoo at Church Road.
