The visitors took an early lead through Paul Taylor, only for his goal to be cancelled out a minute after the break when Neil Robinson found the net. The away side grabbed the lead again on 68 minutes when Taylor hit his second of the game. From then on it was all the Sandgrounders as Kevin Lee and Karl Noon scored late goals to secure the points.

Bromley earned an important maximum when they came out on top in a five-goal thriller against Maidenhead on Tuesday.

McCleary opened the scoring for the visitors in the 17th minute. Francis Duku made it 2-0 in the 35th minute, but their two-goal advantage did not last for very long. Manny Williams was on hand to pull one back in the 38th minute for the home side, and Dwane Lee levelled the scores on the stroke of half-time. Sam Wood had the final say in the game as he put the visitors 3-2 up seven minutes into the second-half.

The match between Bishop's Stortford and Lewes had to be postponed due to a waterlogged pitch.
