Tuesday's Blue Square South Wrap

Braintree Town dented Hampton & Richmond's promotion credentials on Tuesday evening while the Cambridge City v Fisher Athletic match was abandoned due to fog.

Braintree Town 3-0 Hampton & Richmond

Braintree cruised to a comfortable victory over promotion chasers Hampton & Richmond at Cressing Road on Tuesday night.

Lee Burns broke the deadlock after 15 minutes and doubled Braintree's advantage after the break to put his side in a commanding position.

The home side further extended their lead just three minutes later thanks to Gary Cross and managed to keep a clean sheet as well.

Cambridge City A-A Fisher Athletic

Abandoned due to fog.

Dorchester 0-4 Bishop's Stortford

Dorchester Town suffered another defeat at home on Tuesday evening at the expense of promotion chasers Bishop's Stortford.

The Bishops opened the scoring after 25 minutes through Danny Harris and Dorchester managed to hold them at bay until the half-time break.

However, it was all one-way traffic from then on as Ahmed Deen doubled the visitor's lead in the 52nd minute and Harris bagged his second goal nine minutes later.

Greg Pearson popped up in the 74th minute to hammer home the killing blow as Dorchester were powerless to resist the onslaught.

Eastbourne Borough 3-0 Bognor Regis Town

No details available at time of writing.

Sutton Utd 1-3 Havant & Waterlooville

Shaun Gale's Havant & Waterlooville continued their climb up the Blue Square South table with a fairly comfortable win over Sutton United at the Borough Sports Ground.

Havant's flying binman Tony Taggart has been in great form of late and opened the scoring for Havant in the ninth minute.

Rocky Baptiste slotted home a 20th minute penalty kick before Sutton's Craig Dundas pulled one back with a 43rd minute penalty.

The Hawks got off to flying start in the second period and restored their two-goal lead in the 47th minute thanks to Gary Elphick.

The scores remained unchanged from that point on, as Gale's men managed to maintain their lead for the rest of the game.
