Basingstoke surrendered a two-goal lead at the Camrose Ground as Braintree Town drew level in the second-half.
The lowly Dragons looked to have the game in the bag after Robbie Watkins netted in the 34th minute and Ross Montague doubled the lead four minutes later.
After the half-time interval however, it was the visitors who looked sharper and pulled a goal back in the 66th minute through captain Brad Quinton.
Louis Riddle then ensured Town would walk away with a share of the spoils on the 83-minute mark.
The results sees the hosts struggle in second-from-bottom, while Braintree dropped to 15th in the standings.
Fisher Athletic edged out a dull affair at Woodside Park to overcome fellow strugglers Bishop's Stortford 1-0.

But Richard Evans leveled the scores in the 40th minute on his Bath debut, before Stuart Douglas fired the visitors in front four minutes later.
Gethin Jones made it 3-1 on the 60-minute mark via a header, but Rainford reduced the deficit for the hosts 11 minutes later from the penalty spot.
It was too little to late from the midfielder, who looked like he would salvage a point for Chelmsford after Paul Evans was sent off for the Romans.
The win moved Bath into 11th spot, while the Clarets still top the standings.
Promotion-chasing Hampton & Richmond secured a comfortable 2-0 victory over struggling Dorchester Town at the Avenue Stadium.
Craig Tanner gave the hosts an early lead in the tenth minute and the Magpies had no response.
After the break, Ben Wright made sure the points were sealed with a goal on the 69-minute mark.
The result puts the Beavers just nine points adrift of the summit, with two games in hand over leaders Chelmsford.
Dorchester remain in 17th spot with 14 points.
Havant and Waterlooville left it late to earn a share of the spoils with Newport County at West Leigh Park.
Welsh defender Paul Cochlin opened the scoring in the 28th minute to fire the visitors in front.
That effort seemed to have guaranteed the points for County, but Paul Booth cancelled out the goal four minutes from time.
Havant are now just three positions ahead of the 19th-placed Exiles.
Eastleigh caused the upset of the league after hammering high-flying Maidenhead United 4-1 at York Road.
Peter Adeniyi got the ball rolling for the visitors in the 13th minute, but Smith cancelled out the strike for the hosts on the 37-minute mark.
With the scores level at half-time, it looked like the game would be a closely-fought encounter, but the Spitfires were pure class in the second period.
Tony Taggart restored their lead on the 50-minute mark, before Andy Forbes made it 3-1 moments later.
In the 58th minute, Forbes was on hand again to ensure the visitors walked away comfortable victors.
United fell to third in the standings, while the three points pushed Eastleigh up to ninth spot.
St Albans and fellow high-fliers Hayes & Yeading left it late to provide goalmouth action in a 1-1 draw at Clarence Park.
Both side's seemed to cancel each other out in the first half and much of the second spell as they looked to close the gap at the top of the table.
Paul Hakim looked to have won the encounter for the hosts with his 77th minute effort, but eight minutes later, midfielder Will Hendry leveled the scores.
The Saints are now just two-points adrift of second-placed United.

The defeat saw the Loyals drop down to tenth place, while Thurrock moved up to 14th.
Welling twice fought back to claim a point in a 2-2 draw against high-flying AFC Wimbledon at Park View Road.
Jon Main opened the scoring for the visitors in the fifth minute, following a howler by home keeper Jamie Turner.
Charlie Sheringham hit back for the Wings on the 23rd minute to level the scores.
But just two minutes later, Ben Judge converted a Chris Hussey free-kick to fire the Dons in front again.
Six minutes after the break though, Sheringham secured a point for the hosts with a header of Lee Blackburn's free-kick.
The result sees the Wings move up to seventh spot, while the visitors stay in fourth spot.
