AFC Wimbledon recorded another home victory to maintain a sizable cushion over the chasing pack, while Hampton & Richmond leapfrogged Chelmsford City into second place in the standings.

AFC Wimbledon 2-0 Worcester

The Wombles look to be on course for promotion to the Blue Square Premier after recording yet another home victory on Tuesday evening.

Mid-table Worcester managed to keep the hosts at bay in the first half but they were unable to prevent them from taking the lead in the second period.

Centre back Alan Inns broke the deadlock in the 53rd minute and striker Jon Main doubled their advantage just two minutes later.

Bath City 3-0 Weston-S-Mare

Bath City kept their play-off dreams alive after recording a comfortable victory over Weston-super-Mare at Twerton Park.

Striker Dave Gilroy netted the opening goal after 56 minutes and defender Chris Holland doubled their advantage when he found the back of the net in the 69th minute.

Welsh defender Matt Coupe popped up in the 76th minute to further extend the home side's lead and put the result beyond the reach of the Seagulls.

Braintree Town 1-0 Havant and Waterlooville

Braintree Town moved up to mid-table on Tuesday evening after edging out strugglers Havant and Waterlooville by a solitary goal at Cressing Road.

The first half ended goalless with neither of the two sides able to fashion an opening goal.

However, the hosts got the breakthrough they were looking for when striker Sean Marks found the back of the net in 64th minute.

Bromley 1-0 Bognor Regis Town

Mark Goldberg's Bromley claimed tenth place in the Blue Square South standings after recording a narrow win over relegation-threatened Bognor Regis Town at the Courage Stadium.

The Ravens were awarded a penalty two minutes before the half-time break and striker Warren McBean made no mistake with the resulting spot kick.

After this latest result, the Rocks remain second-from-bottom with a dismal total of 16 points from 32 games.

Hampton & Richmond 2-1 Bishop's Stortford

Hampton & Richmond Borough moved up to second place in the standings on Tuesday after clawing their way back from a first-half deficit against Bishop's Stortford.

The Bishops drew first blood with midfielder Danny Harris finding the net with a 20th minute effort and held the hosts at bay to end the first period with a slender lead.

However, the hosts produced an improved performance in the second period the snatch the result out of the hands of the visiting side.

Midifelder Francis Quarm was the man of the hour as he calmly slotted home a penalty in the 68th minute and repeated the feat when his side were awarded a second spot kick in the 75th minute.

Maidenhead Utd 1-0 Fisher Athletic

Maidenhead United had enough quality to see off the challenge of rock-bottom Fisher Athletic in a closely contested affair at York Road.

The Magpies were made to work hard for the result as the Fish battled throughout in the hopes of collecting much needed points.

The home side finally claimed the lead in the 66th minute when Turkish forward Mustafa Tyriaki unleashed a vicious shot which rocketed into the back of the net.

St Albans 3-0 Basingstoke

St Albans City further distanced themselves from the dreaded drop zone after cruising to a comfortable win against relegation-threatened Basingstoke at Clarence Park.

The Saints got off to a flying start with forward Paul Hakim finding the net with a 6th minute effort and fellow striker Gary Cohen doubled their advantage just four minutes later.

Defender James Fisher further extended their lead with a 33rd minute effort to help his side record a morale-boosting win.

Welling 0-2 Hayes & Yeading

Andy ford's Welling United slipped down to ninth place in the Blue Square South standings after suffering a 2-0 defeat at the hands of play-off hopefuls Hayes & Yeading.

Striker Josh Scott was a constant thorn in the side of the Wings and broke the deadlock when he found the net after just ten minutes of play.

Scott popped up again in the 80th minute to put his side firmly in control and put the result beyond the reach of the hosts.
