Saturday's Blue Square South Wrap

AFC Wimbledon took another step towards the title with a comfortable victory over Team Bath, while Thurrock's fight to beat the drop took another blow.

The Dons made home-ground advantage count with a 2-0 victory over Team Bath.

After a goalless first-half, the home side broke the deadlock on 52 minutes through Kezie Ibe.

Tom Davis ended the match as a contest on the stroke of full time, moving the Dons on to 80 points.

Thurrock's hopes of avoiding relegation suffered a setback when they were beaten 1-0 by Basingstoke Town.

Town grabbed the only goal of the game on 63 minutes thanks to a fine finish from defender Sean Hankin.

The Fleet remain five points from safety, with just five matches left to play.

Eastleigh's hopes of securing a place in the play-offs were boosted by a 4-3 victory away at Bishop's Stortford.

The Spitfires took an early lead through Jonny Dixon and managed to hold on to their advantage until the break.

The visitors came out after the interval in a determined mood and added two more goals before the 53rd minute, thanks to strikes from Tony Taggart and Aaron Martin.

The home side staged a comeback and made it 3-2 thanks to Reese Prestedge and Lindie.

However, the Bishops failed to use their momentum as the Spitfires made it 4-2 in the 86th minute thanks to Brett Williams.

Lewis Smith made it 4-3 with a matter of minutes left on the clock, but there was not enough time for yet another comeback from the home side.

Hampton & Richmond kept their title hopes alive with a 1-0 victory over Dorchester thanks to a Lawrence Yaku strike shortly after half time.

Maidenhead United's charge for the play-offs hit a blip with a 3-3 draw at Havant and Waterlooville.

The visitors trailed 3-2 until shortly before the final whistle when Richard Pacquette rescued a point from the penalty spot.

Hayes & Yeading maintained their strong position in the play-off places with a 2-1 victory over Bromley.

A Will Hendry brace made sure the home supporters left the stadium with a smile on their faces.
