Tuesday's Blue Square North & South wrap

AFC Telford and Southport cemented their play-off places in Blue Square North on Tuesday night, while the slide out of Blue Square South continues for Fisher Athletic.

The Bucks eased past visiting Harrogate Town 3-1 to remain fourth in the standings.

On-loan Leicester City forward Ricky Sappleton fired the hosts in front after just 16 minutes. However, the Sulphurites were able to pull the goal back on the half-hour mark thanks to James Dean.

In the second half, an Andy Brown brace secured all the spoils for the Bucks as he struck after 61 minutes and then added a penalty shortly before the final whistle.

The Sandgrounders also celebrated a resounding result at Haig Avenue after comfortably overcoming a gritty Droylsden outfit 3-1.

A brace from Steve Daly either side of half-time placed the hosts in the driving seat, but Jody Banim made it 2-1 after 61 minutes.

Any thoughts of a comeback were quickly squashed by Kevin Lee, who restored Southport's two-goal cushion five minutes later.

Elsewhere, Alfreton got the better of their play-off rivals Stalybridge at Bower Fold.

Anthony Howell opened the scoring for the Reds after 36 minutes and Anton Brown's effort four minutes from time means Town still hold the final play-off spot, with the Badgers six points adrift.

In the Blue Square South, Fisher suffered a 2-0 away defeat against Braintree and have now racked up just 17 points in the league.

Louis Riddle netted from the penalty spot to kick off proceedings in the 29th minute, before Gareth Williams sealed the win before half-time.

Bishops Stortford edged a five-goal thriller against Bath City, while Hayes & Yeading routed Weston-S-Mare 3-0.
