Saturday's Blue Square South Wrap

Lewes and Weymouth could not be seperated as their adventure into the world of Blue Square South began with a 1-1 draw.

Both sides would have been hoping to start off their campaign with a three-point haul, but it was not to be for either side.

While the game looked destined for a stalemate, with 0-0 the more likely scoreline, the visiting Terras opened the scoring through Ben Reiffer on 62 minutes.

However, the home side kept to the pattern of the game and equalised a minute later when Dan Beck sent ripples through the net, in the process sharing the spoils between the two sides.

Staines Town caused a shock when they upset Weston-Super-Mare 1-0 with a last-gasp winner.

The match looked on course to end in a stalemate until Scott Taylor popped up with seconds left on the clock to secure a dream start for the newcomers.

Woking secured the three points in their opener against Welling, with another late goal the order of the day.

Welling took a third-minute lead when Cracknell netted from the penalty spot.

The Cards, who were the visitors on the day, rallied in the second period and scored two goals in four minutes to make sure of the victory.

Aswad Thomas grabbed the first in the 76th minute before Giuseppe Sole scored the winner from the spot after 80 minutes.

In the game of the day, Chelmsford did enough to run out 4-3 winners against Bath City, despite nearly throwing a 4-0 lead away.

The home side blitzed the visitors in the opening 24 minutes with goals from Hockton, Jason Hallett (2) and Cook sending the home fans into fits of joy.

However, Bath City hit back in tremendous fashion thanks to strikes from Richard Evans, Mike Perrott and Darren Edwards.

But it was not enough as the home side held out for the three points, although you have to feel for Bath as they played some great football to claw their way to within touching distance of a point.
