Newcomers Dover Athletic are still at the top of the Blue Square South table after an action packed round of fixtures on Bank Holiday Monday.
Basingstoke Town had enough about them to see off the challenge of strugglers Dorchester Town at The Camrose Ground.
Striker David Pratt put the hosts ahead from the penalty spot in the 70th minute before midfielder Jide Ogunbote doubled their advantage with a 84th minute strike.
Dorchester's Ashley Vickers got his name on the scoresheet just one minute later but the home side held firm to claim all three points.
Bath City were held to 1-1 draw by rock-bottom Worcester City at Twerton Park, while Braintree Town built on their good start to the campaign with a 2-1 victory over Chelmsford City.
Bromley recorded a second consecutive league victory after easing past a lacklustre Lewes at The Courage Stadium.
Defender Aaron Dalhouse opened the scoring for the Ravens after 28 minutes and forward Warren McBean doubled their advantage with a 66th minute strike.
Dalhouse popped up one minute before injury time to rub slat in the wounds of Lewes, who are now second-from-bottom with four points.
Dover Athletic picked up yet another win thanks to first-half goals from midfielder Sammy Moore and striker Lee Browning.
Newport County moved up to third place in the Blue Square South standings with a 2-0 win against Weston-super-Mare at Newport Stadium.
Striker Craig Reid put the hosts ahead from the penalty spot in the 67th minute and fellow forward Dave Gilroy notched their second with a 75th minute effort.
Weymouth's stuttering start to the campaign continued on Monday as they were edged out by visiting Havant and Waterlooville.
The match looked to be heading for a goalless draw but defender Jay Gasson netted a late dramatic winner to help his side claim a vital three points on the road.
