Saturday's Blue Square South Wrap

Newport County are two points clear at the top of the Blue Square South, ahead of Dover, with just seven points separating the top five teams in the league.

County have Charlie Henry to thank for their 1-0 victory over lowly Bath City with his goal coming after just seven minutes while Dover will be ruing their 1-0 reverse to Worcester, who have just 10 points from their 12 matches so far, with Mark Clyde the hero there with his 34th minute effort.

Thurrock had no problems dispatching of Basingstoke in a match that they ended as 4-0 winners. Leon McKenzie put his side in the lead after 42 minutes before a Fola Orilonishe brace on 49 and 59 minutes with David Knight added a fourth with 11 minutes of the match remaining.

Two goals in either half secured victory for Woking over Chelmsford on Saturday with Wilfried Domoraud on target after 37 minutes and Sam Sloma a second half scorer with his 70th minute goal.

Charlie Sheringham added to his goal tally with another two strikes this weekend for Bishop's Stortford. Welling would have been well aware of the threat posed by the goal scorer but were unable to prevent him giving his side a 2-0 victory. Sheringham netted in the 23rd and 45th minute

Elsewhere, Havant and Waterlooville and Eastleigh drew 2-2 with Richard Gillespie scoring twice in the second half to steal a point for his side. Mustafa Tiryaki was on target after 30 minutes before Luke Nightingale's 39th minute strike gave Havant a 2-0 first half lead. But the second period belonged to Gillespie as he netted after 61 and 84 minutes.

Dorchester shocked Braintree Town on Saturday with a 5-0 thrashing. The goals started flowing the 14th minute through Mark Jermyn and continued to come as Nick Crittenden added a second after 16 minute and again six minutes later with Ollie Barnes getting in on the act after 61 minutes. Phil Walsh rounded off the rout with his 67th minute strike.
