Saturday's Blue Square South Wrap

Eastleigh were the biggest movers in Blue Square South on Saturday after beating Lewes at home, while Weston-super-Mare also earned three valuable points.

Dover were the only club in the top five that played at the weekend but made no progress after losing 3-1 at Weston-super-Mare. Jack Compton put the Seagulls in the lead after 21 minutes and Dave Gilroy added two more after the break before Shaun Welford scored a consolation goal for the Whites.

Eastleigh moved up to ninth in the table after Scott Manning's own goal condemned second-from bottom Lewes to another away defeat.

Maidenhead edged a thrilling encounter against Basingstoke at York Road to keep them behind Eastleigh only on goal difference.

Sam Collins and Kieron St Aimie put the Magpies 2-0 up with 76 minutes gone but Gary Frewen's penalty and Fraser Franks' goal on 85 levelled things up. But Alex Wall would not be denied and popped up with Maidenhead's winner in the dying minutes.

Bath are just a point adrift of Maidenhead in 12th after beating Chelmsford courtesy of Stuart Douglas' solitary goal in the 32nd minute at Twerton Park.

St Albans played to a 1-1 draw with Braintree at Clarence Park, but the crowd had to wait 74 minutes before Danny Johnson found the back of the net for the Saints. But the home side were denied a win when Mark Jones scored an Iron equaliser with five minutes left to play.

Welling produced a morale-boosting 3-0 victory over Staines in front of the Park View Road faithful to move six points clear of the relegation places. Goals from Tommy Whitnell, Lee Clarke and a David Woozley own goal sealed a comfortable win.

Dorchester drew 1-1 with Worcester at Avenue Stadium, which was of no real help to either side as both hover just above the drop zone. Craig Wilding gave the away side the lead in the 53rd minute before Matt Groves earned a share of the spoils with his 68th-minute goal.

Bottom-club Weymouth came away from Woodside Park with a vital three points as they beat play-off chasers Bishop's Stortford by one goal to nil. Jake Reid was the hero for the Terras after scoring in the 17th minute.
