Saturday's Blue Square South wrap

Newport County continued their dominance in the Blue Square South downing relegation-threathened Lewes 3-0 in the pick of Saturday's fixtures.

The runaway league leaders extended their cushion at the summit to eight points and still have a game in hand over second-placed Dover. Scott Rogers got the rout underway in the 24th minute before on-loan Swansea forward Kerry Morgan doubled the lead after half time. With six minutes remaining, midfielder Charlie Henry added to the Rooks' woes.

Woking cemented their place in the top three and in turn, left Dorchester perilously close to the drop zone after a 3-1 win at Kingfield Stadium.

The Magpies had reason to celebrate early on as Mark Jermyn opened the scoring in the 24th minute. It looked like the visitors would keep their lead going into the interval, but Moses Ademola struck just before the stroke of half time. Harry Arter then fired the Cards in front on the 76-minute mark before loanee Nathaniel Pinney quashed hopes of a Dorchester fightback just moments later.

Woking are now three points behind Dover, who have played a game more and saw off fellow play-off candidates Thurrock 1-0.

The game looked certain to end in a stalemate, before Nicky Southall pounced in the 90th minute to claim all three points for the Whites.
