Table topping Newport County were held to a draw away to mid-table Welling despite going into the second half with a one-goal cushion, which was supplied by Jamie Collins in the fifth minute of the game.

Then in the 58th minute, the away side doubled their lead through Kerry Morgan, currently on loan from Swansea City, and it looked like business as usual for the Exiles. But Welling's Tommy Whitnell had other ideas, as with two strikes in the 62nd and 75th minute, he restored parity for his team and gave the home fans something to cheer about.

It was 2-2 between Chelmsford who played host to Eastleigh at Melbourne Stadium, with a late goal from midfielder Anthony Cook assuring the Clarets avoided a loss at home.

Richard Gillespie had given Eastleigh an early lead when he struck in the fourth minute of the game, but David Rainford saw the Clarets level with a goal on the 31-minute mark. Staforde Palmer restored the lead for Eastleigh on the stroke of half time and it looked like the Spitfires might take all three points before Cook scored in the 83rd minute of the game.

Thurrock moved into second place with a vital away win against fourth-placed Woking . In a hard-fought game, it was up to defender Paul O'Lima to separate the sides with a goal on the stroke of half time.

With the home fans at the Kingsfield stadium urging them on, the Cardinals threw men forward in an attempt to equalise, but in the end, Thurrock's defence stood firm to ensure all three points for the Fleet.

Staines Town poured more misery onto near bottom Weymouth, scoring three and conceding just one to ensure that the Terras remain in the relegation zone.

Goals from Leroy Griffiths (11th), Howard Newton (20th) and a late strike by Ali Chaaban were enough to see the Swans rise up the table to sixth spot, with Frenchman Pierre Joseph-Dubois's 50th minute strike a mere consolation for Weymouth.
