Saturday's Blue Square South Wrap

Chelmsford City consolidated their play-off position with a victory at Weston-super-Mare, while Braintree Town saw off the challenge of Dorchester Town at Avenue Stadium.

Dover Athletic kept their play-off aspirations alive with a comfortable victory over Basingstoke Town at the Camrose.

The Whites started brightly claiming the lead through Francis Collin's fourth minute effort and doubled their tally in the 27th minute thanks to defender Olly Schulz.

Striker Shaun Welford further extended Dover's advantage in the 34th minute, rendering midfielder Gary Frewen's 57th minute goal for Basingstoke nothing more than a consolation.

Braintree Town kept the pressure on second-placed Chelmsford with a 2-0 win against Dorchester Town at Cressing Road Stadium.

The first half ended goalless but came to life in the 57th minute when Braintree defender Joe Bruce broke the deadlock. Forward George Purcell found the back of the net in the 72nd minute to make sure of the result.

Bromley are still in the hunt for a play-off berth after recording a 2-0 victory over Worcester City at the Courage Stadium.

The Ravens opened their account in the 41st minute through Warren McBean and the striker popped up again in the 56th minute to net his second of the afternoon.

Play-off rivals Eastleigh and Bath City will have to be content with a share of the spoils after playing to a 1-1 draw at Silverlake Stadium.

Welsh forward Kaid Mohamed gave the visitors the lead from the penalty spot in the 29th minute, but Ross Bottomley found the back of the net in the 66th minute to level the scores.

Lewes suffered a setback in their bid to avoid relegation as they crashed to a 3-0 defeat at the hands of mid-table Havant and Waterlooville at the Dripping Pan.

The Hawks were held in a goalless first-half but drew first blood in the 67th minute through Turkish striker Mustafa Tiryaki.

The Rooks were still reeling from the opener when defender Ian Simpemba doubled Havant and Waterlooville's tally five minutes later and the result winning result was sealed when Manny Williams found the back of the net in the 78th minute.

Maidenhead United distanced themselves from the dreaded drop zone at the expense of relegation-threatened Hampton & Richmond Borough at York Road.

The Beavers got off to a flying start as Barrie Matthews found the back of the net from the penalty spot in the third minute.

However, the Magpies rallied well and drew level through midfielder Sam Collins' 56th minute effort before defender Mark Nisbet netted the winning goal in the 75th minute.

Staines Town maintained their play-off push with a comfortable victory over Woking at Wheatsheaf Park.

Debutant Andrew White got the ball rolling with a 46th minute goal and Andre Scarlett doubled their advantage in the 57th minute before completing the rout with an injury-time effort.

A 45th minute goal from Adam Everitt earned St Albans City all three points in their clash against Thurrock at Clarence Park.

Chelmsford City battled their way to a 2-1 victory over Weston-super-Mare at Woodspring Stadium to stay ahead of the chasing pack.

Jermaine Clarke gave the Seagulls the lead in the 20th minute but Chelmsford drew level through defender Matthew Lock on the hour mark.

The match looked to be heading for stalemate but midfielder Anthony Cook popped in the 89th minute to help his side claim all three points.

Welling United kept their play-off dreams alive after cruising to a 3-0 win against rock-bottom Weymouth at the Wessex Stadium.

Striker Lee Clarke gave the Wings the lead in the 49th minute and midfielder Dean Cracknell doubled their tally with a 56th minute goal.

Clarke rounded off proceedings with his second of the evening in the 90th minute to help Welling record a comfortable win.
