Blue Square Bet South leaders Braintree Town dropped points as bottom-side St Albans City continued their recent resurgence.
The Iron looked on course for the win after Crystal Palace striker Nathaniel Pinney had netted on 13 minutes to no reply but Malik Abdulai popped up with just seven minutes of the match remaining to give his side a glimmer of hope at the bottom of the table.
Braintree are now just seven points clear of Farnborough, who leapfrogged Ebbsfleet United into second while St Albans edged closer to Lewes at the bottom of the standings with just six points separating the two sides.
Ebbsfleet had lost their away clash with Weston-super-Mare 3-2 with Calum Willock's double not enough to see them claim the points. Willock put his side ahead on 16 minutes but Kane Ingram's 19th minute strike sent the teams into the half-time break on level terms. Sahr Kabba then netted five minutes after the restart before Nat Pepperell's 83rd minute goal gave the Seagulls a two-goal advantage. Willock netted late on with three minutes to play, but it proved to be nothing more than consolation.
Farnborough had no trouble dispatching of second-from-bottom Lewes as they put five past the struggling side. Paul Booth got his side rolling with goals in the third and fifth minute before Gary Noel pulled one back for Lewes after 26 minutes. But normal service was resumed as Jack King netted with 34 minutes on the clock before Booth completed his hat-trick on the 39 minute mark. Kezie Ibe had the final say with his goal in the 84th minute.
Woking jumped up into third with their 1-0 win over Bromley with Craig Dobson netting the only goal after 76 minutes while Chelmsford City remain in fifth after a 2-1 win over relegation-threatened Maidenhead United, who stay third from bottom on 25 points.
Wayne Gray (28) and Robert Edmans (50) were on target for the Clarets with John-Jo Bates (87) netting for the Magpies.
Dover Athletic moved from eighth to seventh with a 2-1 win over Dorchester Town, who dropped from 15th to 17th. Adam Birchall netted a brace (33), (68) to cancel out a Nick Crittenden effort. (32)
Welling United moved onto 60 points from 33 games but stay in sixth after their 4-1 hammering of Eastleigh. Andy Pugh opened the Wings' account in the eighth minute before adding a second with 21 minutes played. Lewis Cumbers joined the party after 29 minutes with Jamie Day finding a fourth with just three minutes remaining. And with the match already won, Jamie Slabber made the merest of dents in the scoreline in the 90th minute.
David Bryant netted the only goal of the game on 71 minutes as Boreham Wood defeated Basingstoke Town 1-0 to move from 17 to 15 and close the gap between themselves and the Dragons, who slipped down a place to 14th with now just six points between the two sides.
Elsewhere, Hampton & Richmond Borough drew 0-0 with Thurrock as Havant & Waterlooville beat Bishop's Stortford 4-1.
Giuseppe Sole (16), Jake Newton (40), Sammy Igoe (47) and Wes Fogden (62) were all on target for the Hawks with Mo Habu (53) netting for the Bishops.
Staines Town defeated Dartford 2-0 with goals from Andre Scarlett (5) and Scott Taylor (41).
Borough and Thurrock remain in 16 and 19 respectively while both Havant and the Bishops stay in 11 and 18.
Staines, however, moved from 14 to 12 with Dartford dropping from12 to 13th place in the standings.
