Friday's Blue Square South Preview

There are six fixtures lined up for Friday evening with Bath City and Eastbourne Borough looking to close the gap on league leaders Lewes.

Bath City v Newport County: Bath City will be looking to return to winning ways on Friday when they play host to Newport County at Twerton Park. City suffered their first defeat of the season to Welling on Saturday and a home win could see them possibly close the gap on table-topping Lewes. The Exiles currently find themselves near mid-table with eight points while Bath occupy third place with 13 points.

Blue SQ have odds of 8/1 on the home side winning 2-1.

Bishop's Stortford v St Albans: The Bishops prepare for the visit of St Albans to Woodside Park on Friday evening as they look to keep pace with the chasing pack. The Saints meanwhile, are rock-bottom on the Blue Square South table as they are yet to record a victory this season.

Blue SQ have odds of 11/1 for the match to end goalless.

Bognor Regis Town v Eastbourne Borough: The Rocks face a stern test when unbeaten Eastbourne Borough travel to Nyewood Lane. Bognor welcome back Michael Birmingham from suspension, whilst recent loan signing Craig Richards is expected to make his home debut. Ben Johnson has joined Worthing on loan with either Richards or Ollie Rowland set to deputise.

The Sports have made a great start to the season having collected 14 points from their first six fixtures.

Blue SQ have given the visitors odds of 20/1 on a 3-0 win.

Fisher Athletic v Cambridge City: Fisher will be looking to build on an excellent 1-0 away victory at St Albans when Cambridge City visit Champion Hill on Friday. The Fish now find themselves in sixth place after 6 matches while the Lilywhites occupy 13th place with seven points.

Blue SQ have given the home side odds of 14/1 on a 3-0 win.

Lewes v Welling: The Rooks have made a flying start to the season having collected 16 points from their first six matches. They play host to Welling at the Dripping Pan and manager Steve King will be keen to see his side collect all three points. The Wings have experienced mixed fortunes and currently find themselves in 14th place with seven points.

Blue SQ have odds of 14/1 on the match ending 2-2.

Thurrock v Hampton & Richmond: Struggling Thurrock play host to the Beavers at Ship Lane on Friday night as they go after their second win of the season. Hampton have made a decent start to the season but will be intent on claiming all three points after two consecutive draws.

Blue SQ have odds of 10/1 on the match ending goalless.
