Top-of-the-table Lewes travel to third-from-bottom St Albans in the pick of the Blue Square South fixtures this weekend.
Saturday 15th September, 2007
Basingstoke Town v Thurrock: Mid-table Basingstoke Town take on second-from-bottom Thurrock at The Camrose Ground looking to build on their
1-1 draw last week at Hayes and Yeading. Thurrock lost 5-0 at home to Hampton and Richmond last time out. Basingstoke have won two, drawn two and lost three so far this season, while Thurrock have won one, drawn one and lost five.
It looks like three points for Basingstoke Town.
Bromley v Bishop's Stortford: Ninth-placed Bromley meet seventh-placed Bishop's Stortford at Hayes Lane. Bromley lost 1-0 at Havant & Waterlooville last time out, while Bishop's Stortford lost 4-3 to St Albans. Bromley have won three, drawn two and lost two, while Bishop's Stortford have won three, drawn three and lost one.
Cambridge City v Bath City: Mid-table Cambridge City face fifth-placed Bath City at The City Ground. Cambridge drew 1-1 at Fisher Athletic last time out, while Bath also drew 1-1 at home to Newport County.
Cambridge have won two, drawn two and lost three, while Bath have won four, drawn two and lost one.
It has to be Bath for the win here.
Dorchester Town v Fisher Athletic: Twelfth-placed Dorchester meet sixth-placed Fisher Athletic at The Avenue Stadium. Town will be in confident mood after their 3-1 win at Sutton United last time out, while Fisher drew 1-1 with Cambridge in their last match. Dorchester's recent signing Gary Bowles is set to be fit for the Magpies, but defender Jake Smeaton is set to miss the game. Town are looking for their first home win after three defeats out of three. They have won two and drawn two of their other matches, while Fisher have won four, drawn one and lost two.
Eastbourne Borough v Braintree Town: Second-placed Eastbourne Borough meet 10th-placed Braintree Town. Eastbourne beat Bognor Regis Town 2-0 last weekend, while Braintree drew 1-1 with Maidenhead United.
Eastbourne are unbeaten so far and have to be the favourites for three points.
Hampton & Richmond v Eastleigh: Eighth-placed Hampton & Richmond face third-placed Eastleigh at the Beveree Stadium. Hampton & Richmond thrashed Thurrock 5-0 last time out, while Eastleigh beat Weston-Super-Mare 3-2. Both sides have lost twice this season but Eastleigh have won their other five matches, while Hampton and Richmond have won three and drawn two.
Eastleigh are the favourites but a draw might be the best bet.
Maidenhead Utd v Havant & Waterlooville: Maidenhead are struggling in 18th place with just five points on the board, with one win, two draws and four defeats so far this season. They face Havant & Waterllloville, who are fourth with four wins, two draws and one defeat so far this season.
Maidenhead drew 1-1 at Braintree last time out, while Havant & Waterlooville beat Bromley 1-0.
It's got to be an away win for Havant & Waterlooville.
Newport County v Sutton United: Newport County are eleventh in the table with two wins, three draws and two defeats. They face Sutton United, who are struggling in 19th place with just one win, two draws and four defeats so far this season. Newport drew 1-1 with Bath in their last match, while Sutton lost 3-1 to Dorchester.
This should be a home win for Newport County.
St Albans City v Lewes: St Albans are third-from-bottom with just five points on the board and they take on league leaders Lewes at Clarence Park. Lewes are unbeaten so far this season with six wins and a draw and beat Welling 2-0 last time out. St Albans got their first win last weekend, beating Bishop's Stortford 4-3.
But Lewes will be too strong for struggling City.
Welling United v Hayes & Yeading: Welling are in sixteenth place and they face bottom-of-the-table Hayes & Yeading, who haven't won so far this season. Welling have won two, drawn one and lost four this term.
They are at home and are the team to back for the win.
Weston-Super-Mare v Bognor Regis Town: Weston-Super-Mare are 15th with seven points after two wins, one draw and four defeats so far this season. Bognor Regis Town are 17th with six points after two wins and five defeats so this is an early-season six-pointer. Weston-Super-Mare lost 3-2 to Eastleigh last time out, while Bognor Regis Town lost 2-0 to Eastbourne.
A draw looks to be the safe bet.
