League leaders Lewes square off against Bath City in the pick of this Saturday's Blue Square South showdowns.
Bishop's Stortford v Hayes & Yeading
Fifth place Bishops will be looking to close the gap at the top of the table when they host Hayes and Yeading on Saturday.
Bath City handed Bishops a shock 4-0 defeat and the boys from Woodside Park will be looking to put that behind them with a triumphant performance against the visitors.
Hayes and Yeading have not been in the best form of recent and languish in 16th place on the table.
There have been no previous meetings between the teams and both sides will be keen to register a win in their first encounter.
Blue Square call it evens on 2 or 3 goals being scored.
Bognor Regis Town v Welling
The Rocks are upbeat after they beat Havant and Waterloo to progress in the coveted FA Cup competition.
However, they now need to turn their attention back to the Blue Square South league where on just 15 points, relegation is still a possibility.
Welling have suffered a lengthy injury list this term and need a strong performance against Town to advance up the table.
The pressure on manager Neil Smith to resign may motivate the players to save his job by turning in a solid, match-winning performance on the pitch.
The Nyewood Lane outfit will have homeground advantage as well as the physiological impact of beating The Wings in the league already this season.
Blue Square have the odds off 11/10 favouring a Bognor victory.
Fisher Athletic v Eastbourne Borough
The Sports will be looking to close the gap between South leaders Lewes against a Fisher team suffering a rather mixed run of form.
Borough go into the game relishing the fact that they have won both head-to-head clashes against the Fish.
However, Athletic will be hoping to change their mixed fortunes and progress from 13th position in the league.
Blue Square are pre-empting 2 or 3 goals to be scored in the encounter.
Hampton & Richmond v Weston-S-Mare
The Beavers are enjoying a rich vein of form winning four of their last six games. Fresh off a 1-0 away victory at Dorchester, Richmond will be looking to stake their claim for a play-off place.
Weston have been struggling with their form, especially at home, where they have been thrashed 3-0 by Eastleigh and 4-0 by high-flying Bishops.
Mare will therefore be keen on the trip to Beveree Stadium as their recent away form has been much-improved.
This will be the first meeting between the teams and both sides will be gunning for maximum points.
Blue Square have stacked the odds against a Weston win.
Eastleigh v Braintree Town
Both sides have been enjoying a good run of form and are tied on the South table on 26 points.
Braintree have been unbeaten in the last six matches and boast three-points from the last clash against Eastleigh.
With both teams so evenly poised, a draw seems the most likely result, but the Spitfires will be looking to avenge the 2-0 loss against the Iron.
Blue Square are gunning 5-4 for an Eastleigh victory.
Lewes v Bath City
Lewes will be looking to extend their reign at the top of the table against a Bath City team aiming for a play-off place.
The South leaders are fresh of a 2-0 victory away at Weston while Bath had to settle for a 2-2 home draw against Hayes.
There have been no previous encounters between these well-positioned teams and the first clash will no doubt be an entertaining one.
Blue Square anticipate four or more goals with a 7/1 chance.
Maidenhead Utd v Dorchester
There have been four previous meetings between the clubs, with United and Dorchester sharing in the spoils.
Both teams have suffered recent home defeats and will be eager to exit the dreaded bottom-half of the table.
United are only two points ahead of Dorchester and a string of wins are needed if both sides are to have any hope of shooting up the South table.
Blue Square are feeling strongly about a Maidenhead win at 10/11.
Newport County v Cambridge City
Cambridge have won the last two meetings against County by a narrow 2-1 margin and this match promises to be a close encounter.
Third-placed Newport will be aiming to thin the six point gap that separates them from second-placed Eastbourne Borough.
However, City seem to have the upper hand over their South counterparts and will be seeking to jump forward a few places in the middle of the table.
Blue Square feel that a Newport victory is likely at 6/4.
St Albans v Bromley
Bromley are confident after their 3-2 away victory at Maidenhead, while Albans will be looking to bounce back after their 3-1 away loss to Basingstoke.
The Saints seem destined for relegation and three points against a flourishing Bromley side could be the spark they need to overturn their fortunes.
There has only been one previous meeting between the sides, with the Clarence Park outfit pulling off a 4-3 victory.
Albans will be looking to repeat that performance.
Blue Square have even odds on a Bromley victory.
Sutton v Basingstoke
Rock-bottom United have managed a meager six points from 16 games and Basingstoke will be looking to capitalise on the U's faltering back four.
Sutton have suffered four defeats in which they have conceded three or more unanswered goals.
Basingstoke are fresh off a 4-1 home win against St Albans and will attempt to advance their position in the South table.
Blue Square back Basingstoke with odds of 11/10.
