Saturday's Blue Square South preview

Blue Square South leaders Lewes travel to struggling Welling United in what is sure to be another exciting Saturday afternoon of football action.

Bath City v Fisher Athletic

Bath City play host to Fisher Athletic at Twerton Park on Saturday with the home side looking to continue their push towards the top of the table.

Lewis Hogg returns from suspension for the hosts, while Luke Prince has arrived on loan to bolster their depleted squad.

Gethin Jones is likely to be missing due to a knee injury, while Mark McKeever has a broken rib and Jason Wood is suspended.

The visitors also have a promotion place in mind. The Fish currently sit in ninth spot, three points off the play-off places.

Jeff Goulding and Wesley Thomas will provide the home defence with a stern test as both players have netted on nine occasions this season.

Blue SQ have odds of 5/2 for Fisher to win the match.

Bognor Regis Town v Eastleigh

Bognor Regis Town will see the clash with Eastleigh as the ideal opportunity to keep their hopes of staying in the division alive.

Rocks manager Michael Birmingham has a full squad to choose from, a luxury he has been deprived of for much of the current campaign.

Andy Forbes will provide the home defence with the biggest threat as the Spitfires' top scorer for the last two seasons has been in fine form this season, scoring 12 goals.

The recent clashes between the two side's have been relatively even affairs, with Bognor edging the visitors twice in their last four encounters.

Blue SQ have odds of 12/5 for the match to end in a draw.

Cambridge City v Hayes & Yeading

Cambridge City and Hayes & Yeading meet in what is seen as a fight against relegation clash at the City Ground.

The Lilywhites have had an indifferent spell of late, winning three and losing three of their last six matches.

United, on the other hand, have won just one of their last six fixtures, sending shockwaves through their fanbase.

The match should be a tight affair as both side's will look at the match as a must-win fixture.

Blue SQ have odds of 6/1 for the match to end in a 1-1 draw.

Dorchester Town v St. Albans City

Dorchester Town face St Albans City in a relegation battle on Saturday.

Both teams currently sit in the relegation zone and victory for either side would go a long way in boosting their confidence for a final push for safety.

Ben Martin is suspended for the visitors and they are still waiting on a number of doubtful players ahead of the trip.

The home side too have problems with injuries and new caretaker-boss Steve Castle will have to wait until Saturday before making any decisions.

Blue SQ have odds of 21/10 for the match to produce 4 goals or more.

Eastbourne v Basingstoke Town

Eastbourne entertain Basingstoke Town on Saturday with the home side eager to close the gap on leaders Lewes.

The home side currently sit six-points behind the leaders, having played two games less.

Andy Atkin will look to add to his nine goals this season for the hosts, while visiting top scorer Michael Charles will also be on the goal trail.

Ben Surey is suspended for the visiting side, while Eastbourne have a strong squad available at their disposal.

Blue SQ have odds of 7/4 for Eastbourne to hold the lead at both half-time and full-time.

Hampton & Richmond v Bromley

Bromley travel to promotion chasing Hampton & Richmond on Saturday looking to claim a play-off spot of their own.

Both side's have had good seasons thus far, but both will see the clash over the weekend as a must win if they are to achieve their goals of promotion.

The Lilywhites have been in fine form in terms of goalscoring this season, with Gareth Williams and Danny Hockton banging in the goals on regular occasions.

The Beavers also have some quality goalscorers in their squad with Elliott Godfrey currently on 12 for the season.

Both teams will attack in this fixture, but the visitors may just have that little bit extra in the goalscoring stakes.

Blue SQ have odds of 5/2 for Bromley to win the match.

Maidenhead United v Braintree Town

Maidenhead United manager Johnson Hippolyte hopes the signing of striker John Hastings can give the club the boost it so desperately needs when they play host to Braintree Town on Saturday afternoon.

The Magpies have injury concerns with Grant Cooper struggling to overcome a virus and Dominic Sterling sidelined.

Braintree currently lie in 11th spot on the league table and they still have hopes of reaching the play-offs.

Both side's have had an eye for goal this season, so expect this match to produce a few goals.

Blue SQ have odds of 50/1 for the match to end in a 3-3 draw.

Sutton United v Newport County

Bottom-of-the-table Sutton entertain high-flying Newport County in what on paper is something of a mismatch.

The Exiles have been in fine form this season and will view Saturday's fixture as the ideal opportunity for them to make their move into the play-off places.

The U's lie six points from safety and are in desperate need of a victory to kick-start their season.

An upset could be on the cards, but on current form the visitors should have enough to claim the three-points.

Blue SQ have odds of 11/1 for Sutton to win the match 2-1.

Thurrock v Bishop's Stortford

Thurrock entertain Bishop's Stortford in a mid-table battle on Saturday afternoon at Ship Lane.

The Fleet have created a healthy gap between themselves and the relegation zone, but a play-off place looks out of their reach at this stage, unless they are able to string together a run of victories.

Bishops have a real chance of chasing down the top clubs and will see a fixture like this as the perfect opportunity to make up some ground.

The visitors have been in good form, both in defence and attack, and will look to exploit Thurrock's poor defensive record.

Blue SQ have odds of 15/8 for the match to produce 4 or more goals.

Welling United v Lewes

Relegation-threatened Welling United will have to be at their best if they are to overcome the superb Lewes on Saturday afternoon.

The Wings have had a poor season so far and currently occupy 19th spot, just three-points above the drop zone.

The Rooks, on the other hand, are having the season of their lives, and if everything goes according to plan, should take the division before the season comes to an end.

Although Lewes are currently leading the Blue Square South table, they have not been the best on the road, and Welling will look to exploit that statistic.

Blue SQ have odds of 16/5 for Welling to win the match.
