Saturday's Blue Square South Previews

Basingstoke v Braintree Town

Braintree Town travel to The Camrose to take on Basingstoke on Saturday.

The Iron are currently sitting in 14th on the table and will want to use the opportunity against the lowly-ranked Dragons to earn some points.

Basingstoke will be eager to get out of the relegation zone and winning is the only way to do it.

After going down to Weston-S-Mare on Tuesday, the team will want to recover quickly.

Bishops Stortford v Fishers Athletic

Bishops Stortford play host to Fishers Athletic at Woodside Park as they seek to keep out of the drop zone.

The Fish, having been hammered 4-1 by the Saints last weekend, need a win to lift them out of the bottom three whilst the Bishops will be hoping to start climbing up the table from a lowly 19th.

The Bishops went down 2-0 against Dorchester in their last league game and will be keen to bounce back quickly.

Bognor Regis Town v Weston-S-Mare

The Rocks play host to the Seagulls on Saturday.

Town will be desperate to get off the bottom of the table and will hope to nick some points off mid-table Weston.

When the two sides met at Nyewood Lane last season, the Rocks won by two goals, with Dan Beck sealing the game with a powerful header.

Weston are 11th in the table with 21 points and will be hoping top-scorer Darren Mullins can add to his tally of four goals.

Hampton & Richmond v Dorchester

The Beavers play host to the Magpies at Beveree Stadium on Saturday.

Hampton boss Alan Devonshire suggested he may experiment with new combinations after last weeks loss to Worcester.

After the defeat Devonshire told The Surrey Comet: "There are no excuses from me. I don't think we played very well and that just isn't good enough from my point of view."

Stern words from the manager, obviously hoping to spur his players on.

Conversely, Dorchester beat Bishops Stortford 2-0 in their last league game.

Havant and Waterlooville v Newport County

The Hawks host the Exiles at West Leigh Park on Saturday

It's panic stations at Newport after their 5-1 drubbing at the hands of Hayes and Yeading sent them to second from bottom of the log.

The Hawks went down 2-1 to Hayes and Yeading in their last league game.

Maidenhead Utd v Eastleigh

The Magpies host the Spitfires at Silverlake stadium on Saturday.

Maidenhead are breathing down Chelmsford's neck at the top of the table whilst Eastleigh are in tenth place after going down to Welling last weekend.

The last time the two teams met, in March 2008, the Spitfires ran out 5-0 victors and they will be looking for a repeat performance.

St Albans v Hayes & Yeading

The Saints play host to United at Clarence Park on Saturday.

St Albans are sixth on the table and will see the clash as an opportunity to make a push for a spot in the play-off zone. United are already in the drop zone and will seek to consolidate their position.

Having beaten Newport 5-1 in their last league game, they are sure to be full of confidence coming into this one.

Thurrock v Worcester

The Fleet host the Blues at Ship Lane on Saturday, in what will be the first game the sides have played against each other in the Blue Square South.

Worcester moved from the Blue Square North this season to make space for a number of Northern clubs falling out of the Blue Square Premier at the end of last season.

Both teams finished in 12th place in their respective leagues last season.

The Loyals have had a run of tough games against teams sitting near the top of the table. They lost to Team Bath, Maidenhead United and Welling whilst managing to beat AFC Wimbledon and Hampton and Richmond Borough.

Thurrock will be looking got their third win on the trot after emerging victorious over Fisher Athletic and Basingstoke Town.

Welling v AFC Wimbledon

The Wings host the Wombles at Park View Road.

Welling are sitting at in seventh on the table with Wimbledon just tree places above them.

The Wings overcame Eastleigh 3-2 in their last week fixture whilst the Dons went down to table-topping Chelmsford.

Chelmsford v Bath City

Table-topping Chelmsford host mid-table Bath on Saturday

Am injury crisis in midfield means Bath may be restricted from playing their usual style of expansive football.

Lewis Hogg and Adam Connolly are both unlikely to feature. Scott Rogers is out and transfer-listed Jamie Gosling is not being considered for selection. Thus Steve Jones may have to play despite having a broken his toe.

Mark Badman is back from suspension.

Chelmsford have been in excellent form of late but they will also have to adjust to compensate for the absence of summer signing Steve Robinson who is serving a suspension. His natural replacement, Steve Ward, is still recovering from a broken nose.

Utility man Chris Duffy is also doubtful.

Team Bath v Bromley

Team Bath are missing several players with injury ahead of Saturday's home game against Bromley.

Steve Abbott and Dean Smith will have scans after being hurt during last weekend's FA Cup defeat to Forest Green Rovers.

"Steve has got a lot of swelling around his knee and it looks like it might be his medial ligaments," head coach Andy Tillson said.

"Dean has been struggling with his ribs for a while now and took another blow last weekend."
