Saturday's Blue Square South Preview

Dover Athletic will hope to continue their excellent start to the campaign when they travel to Eastleigh on Saturday afternoon.

The Whites have exceeded all expectations at this early stage of the season and are looking good for a possible play-off position come May 2010.

Dover are still unbeaten and have picked up 11 points out of a possible 15.

Eastleigh have not made the best of starts to the campaign, but will be content having won two and lost three so far.

The Spitfires thrashed Bromley 6-1 in their last home fixture and manager Ian Baird will be hoping for the same level of performance come Saturday afternoon.

Havant and Waterlooville, Thurrock and Basingstoke Town have also made unbeaten starts to the campaign and are level on points with Dover, while Newport County are also yet to lose a game but have accrued two points less.

Havant and Waterlooville play host to Basingstoke Town in a match which may see either side lose their unbeaten status.

Hawks' Manny Williams is currently the league's top scorer with seven goals and is one of the main reasons behind the club's fantastic start to the season.

However, The Hawks are yet to win a home match (their two home games have been draws) and they would love for their first victory on home soil to come against Basingstoke Town.

Town manager Frank Gray, however, has another result in mind and admits that his side have a lot of confidence flowing through their veins.

He told the Basingstoke Gazette: "We are still unbeaten so there is a lot of confidence in the camp.

"I do not think that anyone expected us to be unbeaten after five games so there is a good deal of confidence around.

"We will go to Havant looking to get three points but that will not be an easy task."

Thurrock face a difficult trip to Hampton & Richmond and manager Hakan Hayrettin will be hoping for more of the same from his side.

The Fleet have drawn both of their away games so far and will be looking to turn stalemates into victories this Saturday.

Hampton, though, will be in good spirits ahead of the game after convincingly beating Bath City on Monday night.

They have not handed their fans a home victory as of yet and there is no better time to claim one than on Saturday against their high-flying opposition.

Newport County have struggled to turn draws into wins so far and will be hoping that the trend does not continue away at Maidenhead United.

Exiles manager Dean Holdsworth is delighted with his side's unbeaten record and is eager to see them tested when they make the trip.

He told the South Wales Argus: "It's a fantastic record and something to be proud of.

"It's good for us to test ourselves to see how far we can go with it but we can't take anything for granted.

"There's no rest, we've still got to work as hard as ever to get results."

While Newport are unbeaten, Maidenhead have not managed a victory yet and sit at the wrong end of the league table.

Like the Exiles, the Magpies have failed to convert draws into wins, which has seen three of their five matches end in stalemates.

Magpies manager Johnson Hippolyte is expecting a tough test against County but is relishing the match.

He told the Maidenhead Advertiser: "Newport County have had a good start, always bring a big crowd and always give us a good game.

"They beat Chelmsford City - who I expect to be up there again this year - 4-0 last week."
