Saturday's Blue Square South Preview

Andy Hessenthaler's Dover Athletic will be looking to extend their lead at the top of the table on Saturday, while Basingstoke play host to fellow high flyers Thurrock.

Fifth-placed Basingstoke Town will be targeting a second consecutive victory when fellow play-off hopefuls Thurrock make the trip to The Camrose on Saturday afternoon.

The Dragons recorded a 2-1 win against Braintree Town last weekend and manager Frank Gray will be keen to see more of the same.

Thurrock also recorded a win on their travels last weekend, edging past Worcester City at St George's Lane to lift themselves up to third position in the Blue Square South standings.

Chelmsford City boss Glenn Pennyfather has ordered his squad to put all thoughts about the FA Cup to one side for the weekend as he looks to conduct a repeat of their victory over Woking during the first midweek of the season.

Pennyfather told the club's official website: "We were on a high before the Eastleigh game and played really well for the first 35 minutes of that game but lost.

"We bounced back well against Enfield but there will be no thoughts of Dartford or the FA Cup until it's our next game. That's for next week as now Woking are our full focus."

Pennyfather will have a fully-fit squad at his disposal with the exception of two long-term casualties.

He added: "They've had a good run since we beat them last and we played very well that evening to win as Woking are as a good a side as we've played so far. They are a full-time club which will have its advantages in fitness and organisation but we have everyone fit apart from Simon Glover and Ollie Berquez and we'll be raring to go."

Woking manager Graham Baker is boosted by the return to fitness of duo Aswad Thomas and Jamie Hand, but will have to make do without the services of Nicky Nicolau (hamstring).

Moses Ademola, Jon Boardman, Billy Hussey and Tony Sinclair are all expected to miss out.

Strugglers Dorchester Town prepare for the visit of sixth-placed Braintree Town to Avenue stadium, while 14th-placed Hampton & Richmond Borough play host to rock-bottom Weymouth.

Seventh-placed Havant and Waterlooville play host to mid-table Eastleigh and strugglers Lewes entertain newcomers Staines Town, who currently find themselves sitting in 11th position.

Second-placed Newport County prepare for the visit of 13th-placed Bath City as they look to leapfrog Dover into pole position.

Newport boss Dean Holdsworth has major doubts over the availability of groin victim Gary Warren, but defender Martyn Giles will be available before his three-game suspension kicks in.

On-loan winger Sam Deering will make his last appearance for the Exiles before returning to parent club Oxford United.

Bath City boss Adie Britton will have to make do without the services of Sekani Simpson (hamstring), but can call on Sido Jombati (knee ligaments).

Mark Badman returns to contention after missing the FA Cup win at Willand but Chris Holland (knee) and Matt Coupe (one-match ban) are sidelined.

Worcester City manager Richard Dryden is confident his side can get a result against table-topping Dover at the weekend.

Dryden told Worcester News: "I think the quality is there to beat teams and we saw against Dorchester, Basingstoke and Staines that we can dominate for long periods.

"Then the other Worcester City turns up, like in the game against Thurrock. We have got to raise our game tomorrow.

"I want us to come out of the traps flying and, when we've got the ball, we will be getting the crosses in.

"It's going to be a hard game and they are a top side with a good fan-base. They are the ones to be shot at along with Newport.

"It's a good game for us and I am looking forward to it."

Defenders Wayne Daniel and Shabir Khan should be fit to play despite respective minor injury problems.

Midfielder Jordan Fitzpatrick is rated doubtful with a knee injury, while left-back Alfie Carter is nursing a knock.

Dover boss Andy Hessenthaler will have to make do without Adam Birchall, who is on the treatment table with a hamstring problem.

However, Frannie Collin and Jake Leberl are back in training and could play some part in Saturday's clash.

Hessenthaler told Kent Online: "Worcester will be a tricky game. They have got off to a slow start but have got some good individuals.

"It will not be an easy game. We'll go there as the league leaders and I'm sure they'll raise their game.

"We'll just have to do what we did in our last away game at Thurrock and put in a professional performance."
