Saturday's Blue Square South Preview

League leaders Newport County prepare to take on fifth-placed Basingstoke Town on Saturday, while second-placed Dover travel to strugglers Dorchester Town.

Bath City will be looking to break into the top half of the league standings when an in-form Bromley visit Twerton Park.

Stripes boss Adie Britton has the luxury of a fully-fit squad to choose from for the first time this season.

Striker Kaid Mohamed has shrugged off a leg injury he picked up against Basingstoke Town two weeks ago, while fellow forward Stuart Douglas played in Tuesday's 2-0 win at Weymouth after recovering from his neck operation.

Bromley manager Mark Goldberg will be targeting more of the same after steering his side to a 2-0 win over Basingstoke Town on Tuesday evening.

The Ravens currently find themselves sitting in eighth position in the Blue Square South standings with 24 points from 14 games and another victory at the weekend would see them cut the gap on the play-off places.

Chelmsford City boss Glenn Pennyfather is targeting a full haul of points when Havant and Waterlooville visit Melbourne Stadium on Saturday afternoon.

Pennyfather told Chelmsford's official website: "The lads are flying and we earmarked the three games after Stevenage as a group where we wanted to pick-up maximum points. We had a tough game at Stortford, and not many teams will get there and get three points, but we're through stage one."

Dave Rainford is expected to miss out with a hamstring strain, while defender Ben Martin is still on the treatment table with his own group of minor injuries.

Goalkeeper Craig Holloway returns to contention having regained his match fitness after a spell on the sidelines.

Mid-table Havant & Waterlooville will be targeting a return to winning ways after picking up two points from their last three league encounters.

The Hawks have collected 21 points from 14 games and trail the play-off places by just six points.

Dorchester Town assistant manager Ashley Vickers has called for more of the same ahead of the visit of Dover Athletic

Looking ahead to the clash, Vickers told Dorset echo: "We had our fingers burned at their place in August, losing 4-1. They've got good players and a big budget but there's no reason why we can't go into the game positive.

"It's hard to say whether it's a good time or a bad time to play them. They've not had the best of it lately but there's no doubting their strength in depth and I'm sure they'll want to get back to winning ways.

"We just need to take all the positives from Tuesday night, including the work-rate, into tomorrow's game."

Jamie Gleeson faces a late fitness after suffering a dead leg in midweek, while skipper Kevin Hill is still struggling to shrug off a foot injury.

Winger Andre Costa should be available to play despite playing for Northampton Town on a trial basis on Tuesday.

Dover Athletic could hand a debut to striker Sam Smith who joined the Whites on a month's loan from Blue Square Premier side Rushden & Diamonds this week.

Manager Andy Hessenthaler has also managed to secure the services of Gillingham defender Tom Wynter and the highly rated youngster will go straight into the squad for Saturday's clash.

Jon Wallis is rated doubtful with a hamstring injury, while Craig Cloke is still a way off from returning.

Jake Leberl is working his way back to full fitness following a bout of flu and could well play some part in the fixture.

League leaders Newport County have bolstered their squad ahead of the visit of Basingstoke Town to Newport Stadium.

Hampton and Richmond midfielder Jamie Collins has joined the Exiles for a nominal fee and is expected to make his debut on Saturday.

Newport suffered their first defeat of the season on Tuesday night at the hands of Staines Town and they will be keen to return to winning ways.

Exiles boss Dean Holdsworth will hand a late fitness test to Kerry Morgan, while Gary Warren has returned to fitness after a groin injury.

Basingstoke manager Frank Gray has a major selection crisis on his hands ahead of the trip to Newport.

Skipper Sean Hankin will miss the game due to a suspension, while seven players are either doubtful or unavailable due to respective injury problems.

Wingers Matt Warner and Gary Frewen miss out with respective knee injuries, while striker Ryan Stephens and defender Adam Aimable (both ankle) are also out of contention.

Defenders Lewis Christon (thigh) and Robert Rice (groin) face a late fitness tests, while striker Phil Ruggles is doubtful with a calf strain.

Gray told Basingstoke Gazette: "We need some of the injured players back quickly and if that's not going to happen we will look at getting some others bodies in on loan.

"You cannot legislate for injuries but we had a very young side against Bromley and you cannot afford to rely on kids.

"If we get some players back from injury I am hopeful we can get a result at Newport. We proved we can beat the top teams last week at Dover and it would be great if we could repeat that."
