Saturday's Blue Square South Preview

Newport County have seen their clash with Basingstoke postponed, giving the chasing pack the chance to reduce the Exiles' sizeable lead at the top of the table.

Worcester City will be looking to further distance themselves from the dreaded drop zone when they travel to 14th-placed Bishop's Stortford.

The Loyals currently find themselves sitting in 19th place with 19 points from 23 fixtures, while the Bishops find themselves sitting in relative safety with 30 points.

Play-off hopefuls Braintree Town entertain strugglers Weston-super-Mare at Cressing Road Stadium, while eighth-placed Bromley play host to 16th-placed Maidenhead United at the Courage Stadium.

Third-placed Dover Athletic will have the chance to reduce the gap on league leaders Newport County when Havant and Waterlooville visit Perry's Crabble Stadium.

The Whites trail Newport County by 15 points but have played two more games that Dean Holdsworth's side.

Seventh-placed Eastleigh will be hoping their pitch passes an early morning inspection on Saturday ahead of the visit of mid-table Welling.

The Spitfires trail the play-off places by four points and will be hoping to kick start their play-off charge with a victory over the Wings at Silverlake Stadium.

Sixth-placed Thurrock will be looking to break into the play-off zone when fellow play-off chasers Bath City travel to Ship Lane on Saturday afternoon.

The Fleet are on equal points with fifth-placed Braintree, while Bath find themselves sitting in ninth place with 34 points from 22 games.

Second-placed Woking are also hoping their game goes ahead this weekend for the visit of relegation-threatened Hampton & Richmond to Kingfield Stadium.

The Cardinals lead the chasing pack with 42 points from 24 games, while the Hawks are hovering dangerously close to the drop zone with 21 points from 21 games.
