Saturday's Blue Square South Preview

Bath City need just one point against St Albans at Twerton Park on Saturday to secure a place in the Blue Square South play-offs.

Manager Adie Britton is confident his charges can make home ground advantage count.

"Getting in the play-offs means everything to us," he said. "It is real now, we can touch it," he told This Bath City.

"But we just have to stay focused and keep our feet on the ground because the work is not done yet, far from it. We know that if we lose on Saturday we could be out of it.

"However, Woking and Havant & Waterlooville both need to win which puts pressure on them and even Braintree have to get a result against Newport if they want to stay in the top five.

"Who is to say how it will all pan out? All we know is that it's in our own hands and if we get a result then we are in."

Britton will be without suspended midfield duo Lewis Hogg and Adie Harris, but Marcus Browning is likely to return after missing the Lewes trip.

Defender Chris Holland is to undergo a late fitness test after picking up a hamstring strain against Lewes.

Braintree Town also need just a point to secure a play-off spot, but face an uphill task as they face champions Newport County at Cressing Road Stadium on Saturday.

Iron boss Robbie Garvey has told his troops not to rely on other results to make sure they are in the play-offs.

He told the Braintree and Withamtimes: "It's in our hands but we know we need to win.

"It's been in our hands for a long while now.

"We don't want other teams to have to do us any favours.

"If we do our jobs, I'm confident we can get the result we want."

Garvey will be without Ryan Peters, who is serving a two-match ban.

Matt Game and George Purcell are set to undergo late fitness tests.

Woking boss Graham Baker has urged his charges to give it everything when they face relegated Weymouth in a must-win tie if they are to have any chance of reaching the play-offs.

"I've spoken to the players and asked them to focus on Saturday's game and if it doesn't pan out the way we want it to then I will speak to them on Monday and Tuesday," Baker told Get Surrey.

"If it does and we make the play-offs, I want them to hold fire until we come to a complete end before looking at next season."

However, the Cards will still have to wait on the results of other play-off hopefuls if they are to qualify.

"It would be an amazing run to win again and still not get in the play-offs but other clubs have been doing their bit as well," he added.

Seventh-placed Havant & Waterlooville are also still in with a shout of making the play-offs but they will have to overcome second-placed Chelmsford, who will be looking to end the league campaign on a high.
