Midweek North and South preview

FC Halifax face fellow high-flyers Guiseley in the Blue Square Bet North on Tuesday, while Blue Square Bet South play-off hopefuls Dover host Hampton & Richmond.

Table-topping Hyde FC will be looking to bounce back from consecutive defeats when they take on 15th-placed Bishop's Stortford at Woodside Park.

Despite picking up just one point from their last three fixtures, the Tigers still hold a five point lead over second-placed Guiseley, while the Bishops will also be targeting a return to winning ways following a 3-1 home defeat to FC Halifax.

Boston United prepare for the visit of eighth-placed Worcester City to York Street separated by just four points in the league standings.

The Pilgrims will be keen to return to the winning trail after a 2-1 defeat to Droylsden at the weekend, while the Loyals shared the spoils with fellow play-off hopefuls Stalybridge Celtic in a goalless draw at St George's Lane.

Neil Aspin's FC Halifax take on second-placed Guiseley at the Shay Stadium as they target back-to-back victories.

The Shaymen returned to winning ways with a 3-1 triumph over Bishop's Stortford at the weekend, while the Lions stretched their unbeaten run to four games with a morale-boosting 1-0 win against Hyde FC.

Dave Mehew's Gloucester City will be hoping for more of the same when fifth-placed Gainsborough Trinity visit Whaddon Road.

Mehew's men edged relegation-threatened Blyth Spartans 1-0 at Croft Park on Saturday, while Trinity kept their play-off charge on track with a 2-0 win over rock-bottom Eastwood Town.

Jim Harvey's Stalybridge Celtic can expect a stern test of their play-off credentials when third-placed Nuneaton Town visit Bower Fold.

The sixth-placed Celtic are desperate for a win after recording two defeats and two draws in their last four fixtures, while the Boro were held to a 1-1 draw by Histon at Bridge Road on Saturday.

Meanwhile, Lee Sinnott's Altrincham will be looking to claim all three points from their clash with 12th-placed Corby Town at Steel Park in a bid to keep their play-off aspirations alive.

The Robins trail the play-off places by four points after two consecutive 1-1 draws, while the Steelmen ended a five-match winless run with a 1-0 victory over Colwyn Bay.

In the Blue Square Bet South, Nicky Forster's Dover Athletic prepare to face 21st-placed Hampton & Richmond Borough at Perry's Crabble Stadium.

The Whites trail fifth-placed Chelmsford City by three points following a demoralising 4-0 defeat to strugglers Staines Town at the weekend, while the Beavers will be hoping for more of the same after a 2-1 triumph over mid-table Weston-super-Mare.

Tommy Widdrington's Eastbourne Borough entertain bottom-of-the-table Thurrock as they aim to open a bigger gap on the relegation zone.

The Sports bolstered their survival prospects with a 2-1 win against league leaders Woking at the weekend, while Thurrock slumped to a 3-0 defeat at the hands of Truro City.
