Friday's North and South preview

Woking can stretch their lead at the top of the Blue Square Bet South standings when they face Basingstoke, while Stalybridge host FC Halifax in the North.

The Cardinals have a five-point lead over second-placed Dartford and can extend it to eight points should they beat Basingstoke Town at The Camrose on Friday.

However, the Dragons will be determined to deny Woking as they are chasing a play-off spot. Basingstoke are in seventh position, four points below the top five.

Eastleigh are also in action as they host Dorchester Town at Silverlake Stadium.

The Spitfires are 11th in the standings after a 2-1 win over Eastbourne Borough, while the Magpies are in 10th, three points better off.

Lee Goodwin's Thurrock side face Boreham Wood but have little to play for as they are at the bottom of the standings and set to be relegated.

Fleet are 14 points from safety, but with only five games left to play their survival chances are purely academic.

Wood are still in with an outside chance at a play-off spot as they sit in eighth position, eight points behind fifth-placed Chelmsford.

Meanwhile in the Blue Square Bet North, Stalybridge Celtic are at home for their clash with FC Halifax.

Celtic are in sixth position and only two points below the play-off spots, while Neil Aspin's Shaymen are fourth.
