Sunday's play-off semi-final preview

Both Dartford and Welling United will be looking for more of the same in their play-off semi-final second-leg ties on Sunday afternoon.

The Darts recorded a 1-0 victory over Basingstoke Town at the Camrose on Wednesday thanks to a 45th-minute goal from Lee Noble. They need only record a draw in the second-leg tie to secure their place in the final and will be feeling confident of doing so on their home patch.

Despite facing an uphill battle, Basingstoke boss Jason Bristow is confident his side can claw their way back from a one-goal deficit at Princes Park.

He told the Basingstoke Gazette: "I still believe, maybe even more than I did before the game.

"We have come off disappointed but we know that we caused them problems.

"We are still in it. That is the most important thing. We are disappointed not to be more in it than we are but the tie is certainly not over.

"They will not take us lightly on Sunday and it will be interesting to see how they approach it."

Jamie Day's Welling United welcome Sutton United to Park View Road for their play-off semi-final second-leg tie after clinching a 2-1 win in the first leg.

Goals from Lee Clarke (24) and Joe Healy (70) sandwiched an own goal from team-mate Graig Holloway in Wednesday's clash at Gander Green Lane.

Us boss Paul Doswell feels his charges still have a chance of progressing to the play-off final, but admits a lot will depend on who scores first on Sunday.

He told the club's official website: "I think there's still everything to play for after the first leg against Welling.

"If we'd have gone two goals behind it would have been very difficult on Sunday, but while you're only one goal down in any game you're always in with a good shout.

"There's another 90 minutes to go, and I think it's very much down to who scores first on Sunday.

"If Welling score it will be very difficult for us, but if we get it the momentum might change.

"We don't have to score in the first five minutes, though, as there's still 90 to go and a lot of football to be played, and I still fancy us to pull it off. "
