Basham: Netted late penalty equaliser
Hayes & Yeading converted an injury-time penalty to earn a share of the spoils with Eastbourne Borough at Church Road on Tuesday evening.
Eastbourne made flying start to the game and claimed the lead in the ninth minute when Jamie Taylor ran onto a clever through pass from Joe Benjamin before firing a low shot past keeper Simon Overland.
However, the rest of the half produced little in the way of goalmouth action as both sides resorted to long punts upfield.
In fact, the second half didn't offer much of an improvement as both sides ended the match with just one shot on target.
The visitors brought on loan striker Steve Basham in the 62nd minute and the Luton man made the difference as he slotted home an injury-time penalty to restore parity.
Hayes & Yeading bookings: None.
Eastbourne bookings: Brown.
