Hayes & Yeading boss Garry Haylock will be looking to neutralise the threat of striker Ben Wright when they entertain Crawley Town at Church Road.
The hitman, who was on at United, was sold to Crawley from parent club Peterborough earlier this week and will take on his old side on Saturday.
Haylock admitted the loss of the attacker is a big blow ahead of the tie.
"He turned down their first offer because he wanted to stay here," Haylock told the uxbridgegazette.
"But I would not have expected him to turn down their second offer. If we could have offered him more money, then he may have stayed here. He has done ever so well for us."
United are sweating on the fitness of Tom Cadmore, who faces a late fitness test and will still be without midfielder Esmond James (knee).
Crawley striker Craig McAllister believes his side have turned the corner after making a slow start to the season.
He told BBC Sussex: "There's a lot of quality here and we just need to get that gel amongst the squad. Hopefully after another few games we'll step up the marker a little bit.
"I don't know a lot about any of the teams at this level. Any game is going to be hard at the beginning of the season - we're all starting at the same point. As we come to Christmas we may see a pack pulling away and hopefully we'll be in that."
The Red Devils will be without hitman Liam Enver-Marum (ankle) and Sam Rents (facial), but they'll be boosted by the news that midfielder Eddie Hutchinson returns from suspension.
