Lee Thorpe
Fleetwood Town are heading to the Blue Square Premier after they beat Alfreton Town 2-1 in Sunday's Blue Square North play-off final at Highbury Stadium.
The victorious Cod Army struck first blood through Gareth Seddon who got on the end of a telling cross by Nathan Pound barely ten minutes in.
Micky Mellon's men protected their lead for much of the game as Alfreton battled to make an impression in the attacking third.
The Reds finally managed to equalise ten minutes from time when Andy Todd slotted a penalty after going to ground in the box.
However, Lee Thorpe bagged the winner just two minutes later to ensure promotion for the Lancashire-based outfit.
Thorpe capitalised from close-range after goalkeeper Ross Turner flapped at a long free-kick into the area, palming the ball into Thorpe's path, with the striker making no mistake.
Fleetwood Town booked: Beeley, Grand.
Alfreton Town booked: Howell, Moult.
Attendance: 3,592.
Referee: S Smith (Matlock).
