Glenn Pennyfather
Chelmsford City head coach Glenn Pennyfather was delighted with the league leaders' display in the 3-2 win over AFC Wimbledon on Saturday.
Victory in the top-of-the-table clash has resulted in the Clarets holding a two-point gap at the Blue Square South summit.
And Pennyfather believes City's grit and guile in the five-goal thriller establishes them as a force to be reckoned with.
He told the club's official website: "Now we've rubber-stamped our credentials as serious challengers for promotion."
The mentor went on to bemoan the weather, which made playing efficiently at a rain-soaked Melbourne Park near impossible.
"It's never nice playing in those conditions as it's not conducive to good football," he added.
"It was a slippery pitch which led to some mistakes, although it was the same for both teams out there."
Substitute Chris Moore came off the bench to net a brace, score his first competitive goals for the club and eventually secure the win.
"We saw the best of Chris Moore today and I was glad to see him end his barren spell in front of goal," added Pennyfather after the game.
"Hopefully we can all push on now and do equally well in what will be another massive game at Maidenhead United next week."
