Mansfield 3-3 Kidderminster

Mansfield and Kidderminster enthralled the Field Mill faithful on the last day of the season in a memorable six-goal thriller.

Striker Jake Speight bagged a first-half hat-trick to leave the Stags in control of the match at the interval. But the visitors fought back in the second stanza and goals from Jack Byrne and Darryl Knights set up an exciting finale. And with around a quarter of an hour left on the clock, Chris McPhee bagged the equaliser to earn Harriers a point.

David Holdsworth's outfit broke the deadlock after 17 minutes when Gary Mills's through pass was latched onto by Speight, who slammed his shot past Dean Coleman.

A superb individual effort in the 24th minute made the score 2-0 when Speight collected the ball on the right and dribbled past McPhee before blasting the ball past Coleman to score.

Town took the direct route for the third and Speight capitalised on Rob Duffy's flick-on and an error from Coleman, who failed to collect the ball giving the 24-year-old the easiest of finishes to complete his treble.

Steve Burr sent his men on early after the half-time break and this seemed to spur them on.

Just five minutes after the restart they pulled one back when Byrne reached Brian Smikle's cross to head the ball into the back of the net.

Six minutes later Mansfield were punished for lax defending as Knights struck from long range to make it 3-2.

On 72 minutes Speight almost scored his and his team's fourth but the in-form striker was denied by a fine save from Coleman.

The goalkeeper's intervention proved to be crucial because Harriers equalised a minute later through McPhee's brilliant volley from outside the area.

Kidderminster booked: Shaw, Istead.

Mansfield booked: Knights.
