Mariners sign defender Garner
Grimsby Town have confirmed the signing of promising defender Scott Garner from Blue Square Bet Premier rivals Mansfield Town on a two-year deal.
The 20-year-old joined the Stags from Leicester City on a free transfer in January, 2009 and went to make 52 first-team appearances.
Mansfield boss David Holdsworth told his club's official website: "Having worked with Scott for the past three years I know he has the ability to go to the highest level.
"I would like to thank Scott for his efforts whilst with us and wish him every success for the future."
Garner has picked up one cap for the England C squad, captaining the side to a 1-1 draw against Hungary under-23's in 2009.
