Holdsworth praises promising Collett

Mansfield Town boss David Holdsworth predicts a bright future for young goalkeeper Neil Collett.

The 20-year-old, who has been with the Stags since passing a trial in January, impressed as a substitute in a recent 1-0 friendly win over Sheffield United.

And while Holdsworth makes it clear that Alan Marriott remains his first-choice keeper, he naturally welcomes the competition.

"Mazza has been my number one keeper, but we have seen Neil develop and he showed what he is capable of last week," Holdsworth told This Is Nottingham.

"He is learning all the time and is certainly a young man who has a bright future."
