Ian Bogie
Gateshead will be expected to close the gap at the top of the Blue Square Bet Premier standings when they host strugglers Lincoln City at the International Stadium on Saturday.
The Tynesiders have won three and drawn one of their last four league matches, leaving Ian Bogie's men in fourth. However, victory this weekend would only solidify their current position, as third-placed Luton are four points better off.
The Red Imps, meanwhile, have not won any of their last five games in all competitions and are currently flirting with the relegation zone after claiming just 26 points from their opening 28 league encounters.
In team news, Gateshead could hand out no fewer than three debuts following the signings of Jamie Chandler and Liam Hatch from Blue Square Bet Premier rivals Darlington, while Newcastle United striker Phil Airey joins the hosts on a one-month loan deal.
City, meanwhile, will be without Adam Smith after the on-loan goalkeeper was recalled to Leicester City, just two weeks after arriving at Sincil Bank.
Former Newport County full-back Paul Robson signed non-contract terms with the Imps last week and could make his Blue Square Bet Premier debut on Saturday.
