Woking 2-2 Mansfield

Woking's chances of beating the drop look increasingly unlikely after they played to a 2-2 draw against Mansfield Town at Kingfield Stadium on Saturday afternoon.

The Cardinals have just one game left in their campaign but many of their relegation rivals will be playing games in hand, in midweek.

Weymouth trail the Cards by one point but have two games in hand, while York hold a one-point cushion on Woking with two games in hand.

The hosts made a flying start to the encounter with Wilfred Domoraud missing the target with a 2nd minute header and then forcing a brilliant save from Jason White in the 13th minute.

Mansfield brought on Aaron O'Connor for Louis Briscoe in the 20th minute and it wasn't long before the forward started causing trouble for Woking's defence.

In the 21st minute, O'Connor came agonisingly close to breaking the deadlock but his powerful shot crashed against the post.

Woking also came really close to opening their account in the 35th minute but Domoraud's glancing header struck the foot of the post and was cleared.

The visitors finally claimed the lead in the 40th minute when O'Connor's cross ricocheted to Robert Duffy and the striker reacted superbly with a brilliant overhead kick which flew into the bottom-right corner.

However, their joy was short-lived as the home side drew level just three minutes later through Colin Miles.

Oliver Bozanic sent in an inswinging cross which was cleared by Adie Moses, but the ball was quickly played back into the box and Miles met the ball with a deft back heel to level the scores.

Mansfield started the second period strongly but it was the hosts who claimed the lead in the 67th minute against the run of play.

Joel Ledgister received a pass out wide from Lian Marum and sent in a low hard cross which was prodded home by Joe Anderson at the far post.

The Cards continued to push forward as they looked to put the game beyond the reach of their opponents, but a lack of cutting edge ultimately saw them lose their slender advantage.

The Stags restored parity in the 80th minute when Ryan Williams delivered an inviting free kick which was met by Duffy, and the striker sent his looping header over the keeper and into the far corner.

Both sides had chances to snatch all three points in the final stages of the match but the scores remained unchanged.

Duffy spurned the chance to net his third goal of the game with another header, while Woking's Ledgister fired wide of the target in injury time.
