Harriers sign Williams and Morris

Blue Square Bet Premier outfit Kidderminster Harriers have announced the signing of defender Mike Williams and striker Lee Morris.

23-year-old Williams was released by Wrexham at the end of last season and has put pen-to-paper on a one-year deal at Aggborough.

He is currently a member of the Wales semi-professional side and has also represented his country at U-19 and U-21 levels.

"I have been really impressed with what I have seen from Mike," Harriers boss Steve Burr told the club's official website.

"Although he is still at a young age he is a relatively old head - there aren't many players who have played as many games at this stage as he has, in the Football League and in the Conference.

"He will be a very valuable addition to the squad."

30-year-old Morris joins Kidderminster on a one-year deal following his release by League Two side Hereford United.

Morris had loan spells at Mansfield Town and Forest Green Rovers last season and can count the likes of Sheffield United, Derby County, Burton United and Leicester City amongst his former clubs.

Commenting on the capture of Morris, Burr said: "Lee has had one or two injury problems, as have most players who are around his age.

"But this can be a fresh start for him. It might not have worked out for him at Hereford last season but it goes without saying he is someone who knows where the net is.

"He's gone for some big money during his career and he will bring some real experience to the side - as well as some goals."

Meanwhile, Burr has also revealed that youngster Nathan Hayward has left Aggborough.

Burr added: "We offered Nathan new terms and he has been a part of things for us so far this summer but ultimately he is looking for a bit more money and, unfortunately, that is not something we feel we can give him at this stage.

"I'm not too sure he will push on from what we saw of him here last season and instead as a club we think we can perhaps use the resources we have now on one of the other young lads who is coming through."
