Crawley sign winger Flood

Blue Square Bet Premier side Crawley Town have continued to strengthen with the signing of Salisbury City winger Chris Flood for a fee of £10,000.

The 20-year-old joins the Red Devils on a two-year deal after making over 50 appearances for the Whites.

Crawley boss Steve Evans told the club's official website: "Floody is a young talented lad and we are delighted to have secured his signature especially given the interest in him from other clubs.

"He is young and has outstanding pace, that will always give defenders he faces a problem.

"He is a different type of player to what we have in the squad and he will give us further options.

"I have no doubt he will play a big part in the season ahead, I am sure of that."

Commenting on his decision to join Crawley, Flood said: "I am just pleased to be finally here.

"I was told of Steve Evans interest a few weeks ago and I just kept my fingers crossed that something would happen.

"I know Tubbsy from our time together at Salisbury City and I am looking forward to perhaps creating a few chances again for him and the others we have in the squad.

"I also like to get on the score sheet myself, this is a real opportunity for me to be joining such an ambitious club."

Flood has been allocated squad number 20.
